About Your Will

In Singapore, it is not a requirement to appoint a lawyer for drafting a Will. It is even possible for individuals to prepare their own Wills. According to the Wills Act, a testator (the person leaving behind the assets) has the right to devise or bequeath their estate through a Will, ensuring that their assets are distributed to their chosen beneficiaries.

1. The Will must be printed out.
2. The testator must be at least 21 years old.
3. The testator must sign at the bottom of the Will to execute it.
4. The signing of the Will must be witnessed by a minimum of 2 individuals. To avoid conflicts of interest, the witnesses must not be beneficiaries or spouses of beneficiaries mentioned in the Will.

Absolutely! We provide the will document to you in a Word format, giving you the flexibility to modify it as needed. If you feel the need for expert guidance or assistance, you can also choose to consult our human will planner at an additional fee (see our latest pricing guide). They will be able to help you rewrite your will according to your preferences and legal requirements.

WillGPT using ChatGPT empowers users to effortlessly generate a comprehensive will document tailored to their specific needs. By inputting relevant information, our platform leverages the capabilities of the most advance GPT version to create a well-structured will based on your instructions.

It's important to note that for the will document to be legally valid, it must be physically signed by you and witnessed by two individuals in ink as required by legal regulations. We provide clear instructions and guidance to ensure that your final will document complies with the necessary signing and witnessing procedures.

After using the platform, you will have the option to download the generated will document in word format from your email. It is important to securely store the document and inform your loved ones or designated executor about its existence.

The capabilities of WillGPT varies. While it can handle many common scenarios, such as complex wills or estate planning, when in doubt, it is always advisable for you to seek the expertise of a qualified estate planner, we provide such service at a reasonable fee (View pricing guideline).

WillGPT can potentially handle international wills by considering specific legal requirements of different countries. It is still advisable for you to seek legal advice at the country you would like your will to be based on.

Any individual who is at least 21 years old and of sound mind can independently draft their own will. To ensure the will's validity, it must be personally signed in ink by the testator (the writer of the will) and witnessed by two individuals at the bottom of the document.

After completing the process, you will be directed to a page where you can generate your will. Once generated, your will is automatically downloaded as a Word document, enabling you to make amendments as needed. You also have the option to instruct the AI to include additional clauses and beneficiaries in your will, which will trigger the regeneration of your will, and another Word document will be automatically downloaded for further amendment if needed.
